- Large metal wall mounting frame (1.57W x 2.72H ft)
- 32 ft – ¼” tubing

Features. The metal frame can be easily attached to any vertical surface. There are 6 pots with 3 different sizes, giving you options to grow a variety of herbs or a mixture of herbs and greens, flowers too.
Although this is not a large hanging vertical wall planter, it still comes with the micro drip irrigation system. This helps water your herb plants easily.
Cons. The drainage holes in all the pots may cause a mess in your kitchen if overwatered. In this case, you need to be extra mindful not to overwater.
Alternatively, you can easily remove the pots from the frame for watering and put them back. I know, this defeats the purpose of having the drip system but if by doing so prevents the mess, why not. Just a little effort and you have a beautiful living wall of herbs!
Overall. At a fairly reasonable price of ±$65, you can start growing your own herbs indoors vertically, rather than taking up your valuable counter space. It provides everything you need. Oops, not everything. You still need your herb plants and a bag of good potting mix.
Either you transplant nursery bought seedlings or propagate your own, read more about how to grow indoor herbs year-round.

The micro drip irrigation system helps water your herb plants efficiently. Simply hook it up to the hose and let your herbs get watered.
Cons. There are drainage holes in all the pots. In this case, you need to be careful not to overwater the plants. Put a doormat or a planter under liner underneath the unit to catch any water that may flow from the bottom pots.
When turning the mobile unit, make sure to turn it slowly because the weight in each section may affect its stability.
Overall. This green garden on wheels allows you to grow most of the common herbs for your cooking needs vertically, maximizing space. With different pot sizes, you may choose to grow a couple of greens, even flowers in the larger pots.
You can conveniently push your herb plants out for a dose of sunlight or bring them back close to you. On top of that, little effort is needed in watering given its micro drip system. Based on the price of ±$90, this is a good buy. Perfect for small space gardening indoors or out.
#3 Vertical Metal Plant Stand 13 Tiers
Rated 3.2 out of 5 stars with 51 customer reviews.
Product Specs
- • Dimensions: 27.2 x 17.5 x 64 inches
- • Weight: 17.25 pounds
- • Product materials:
- Frame – steel, polyester powder coating
- Ring – steel, polyamide, polyester powder coating

Using this indoors, it makes a beautiful room divider with your herbs, greens or flowers growing healthily. Holding 13 potted plants, it surely frees your floor or kitchen counter space.
Cons. The unit requires assembling. Although there is a manual and the directions are pretty straight forward, many reviewers commented the screws do not fit nicely.
Two of the reviewers suggested assembling all the holders first before mounting them to the pole. And keep all the screws facing the same direction. In case you need to adjust the holders, you do not need to look back to front for the screw head.
Pots are not included. You will need to buy separately. Galvanized pot is recommended with this stand but one reviewer suggested plastic planter is better for growing real plants. Regardless, as long as the planter is 5 inches in diameter, you have the upper hand in choosing the preferred pots.
Overall. With this vertical metal plant stand, you get to grow 13 varieties of herbs. Consider including flowers and display them in alternating tiers. I believe this will brighten up your kitchen or room should you use it as a room divider. All this for ±$100. Is this worth buying? Tell me.

#7 GreenStalk 5 Tier Vertical Garden Planter
Rated 4.4 out of 5 stars with 32 customer reviews.
Product Specs
- • Dimensions: 19 x 19 x 54.2 inches
- • Kit includes:
- 5 planters/tiers – each with 6 planting pockets
- 4 grey watering disks
- 1 top water reservoir
- • Weight: 17 pounds (150 pounds when fully planted and watered)
- • Product materials:
- Thick, food-safe polypropylene plastic
- BPA, PVC and BPS - free
Features. Similar to the Altifarm unit, you do not need tools to assemble. Stack the tiers adding height to your limited garden or indoor space and simply unstack as needed.
Made completely in East Tennessee, you have a total of 30 planting pockets to grow your herbs, vegetables, flowers and strawberries. The tiers interlock together for stability.
The GreenStalk’s patented watering system delivers water to each of the tiers/pockets below. Simply filling the top water reservoir to the 5 tier mark will start slow dripping water to the soil immediately.
Cons. You have to ensure all the tiers/pieces are locked perfectly into place otherwise there is a chance it may topple over due to a large amount of weight it carries against the height. To avoid this, grow herbs on the top tiers and vegetables lower.
Additionally, consider using expanded clay pellets in the bottom of the tiers/pockets. This may help stabilize the tower while improving drainage.
Overall. Using this indoors or outdoors, you can mix and match your favourite herbs and vegetables to fill all 30 planting pockets, creating a showstopper. You want this. Your neighbours will envy you.
A bit on the expensive side, ±$138 but take into consideration this GreenStalk Vertical Garden Planter is 100% made in the USA. Furthermore, this is the only system that waters all tiers at the same time. Other stackable gardens over-water the top tiers to get to the lower tiers.
Consider getting this GreenStalk Vertical Plant Mover to easily rotate or move the tower across the kitchen if you are using this indoors or the deck/patio at outdoors. 3 of the 6 wheels have a locking lever. A word of caution - move with extreme care as any gap, holes or uneven ground may cause it to topple.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews that you have published on the best indoor vertical herb garden options that are available in the market today. You went into great detail to describe the pros and cons of each, and when paired with the specifications and images, provided a clear overview for each.
I am an avid fan of using fresh herbs and seasonings whenever possible for my cooking and diet, as I know what a difference that can make for the nutritional and health aspects they offer over dried herbs or packaged from supermarkets. You know exactly what you are getting when you grow your own.
Of the many models that you reviewed, the one that stands out for me in regards to my needs is the #5 ALTIFARM 3 TIER HOME FARM. I would buy the 4 tier system because we do a lot of cooking. The price is high, but it is a quality unit that will last for years it looks like. You have made my search for an indoor herb garden kit easy. Thanks so much!
The Altifarm is truly a good investment if you are cooking a lot. Besides cooking, you can use the herbs to make your own natural remedies. I am happy that you have found your herb garden. Happy Growing!
I just love growing herbs inside the kitchen. For years I have had basil, rosemary.mint, and thyme. With such a small kitchen I uually put them on the windowsill above the sink. However after looking over your article I realized I could utilize a corner of the dining room for a much bigger herb garden. I particularly like the outland living vertical garden it will make a great addition to my dining room.
It will be a beautiful addition, indeed. With the Outland Living Vertical Garden, you can grow herbs as well as green vegetables and flowers too. I can visualize how beautiful it will be. Nice aroma too.
Happy Growing, Cathy.
Hi, Sharon!
Wow! You have certainly done your research! I am never surprised at what is out there for purchase these days! Great ideas for sure! My favorites of the systems you mentioned are the Outland and SavvyGrow systems. They are visually appealing and wouldn’t take up too much space. I like its design. You have left nothing out from your reviews and created them thoroughly. Thank you for taking the time to write this! If I’m ever in the market to grow indoors, I now know where to look! Blessings to you!
There are many beautiful things out there and I just love to share them. Love to see people grow greens, especially herbs. It is much easier having fresh herbs within arm’s length year-round for cooking or to make a simply remedy for common ailments.
Thanks for commenting and your positive feedback. Good day!
One thing I like most about vertical gardening is the limited amount of space it consumes and how much effective it truly is. Being a seasoned gardener, I have made use of various techniques to gardening and this vertical gardening would be the next one to explore. I have a small opening in my kitchen and I would be very willing to grow herbs there. Thanks so much for this article. I might share with my uncle too, he is a gardener too and he was the one who thought me
I like that, Ramos. Thanks for sharing.
It is definitely great to grow herbs in your kitchen. To have fresh herbs for cooking all year round is gonna be amazing.
Oh this is very good. I love this indoor herb growing idea. My mum grows herbs but she doesn’t do that indoor. She goes outdoor at the balcony to do that. I think this way, she can make her best herbs grown inside the house. Infact, this will be a very good idea for me to buy a good gift for her. I like the SavvyGrow on that list. The specs aren’t so bad and it allows for a good amount of planting. Thank you for bringing this good idea to your site. I really like it.
I am so glad you like it, Henderson. And yes, it sure is a wonderful gift to give. Your mum will love it!
Happy Growing!
Sharon,
Thank you so much for this article! I have only started loving to cook in the last couple years, and have more recently gone whole foods/plant based; as a result, I have become more interested in herbs and spices. During quarantine, I decided to start playing with indoor herb gardening – I now have 3 herbs of harvesting age, 4 in seedling stage, and 4 in germination. It is modest but I’m loving it and looking to expand – space is now my limiting factor. Finding something that worked in my home was overwhelming and a bit frustrating – not anymore, thanks to you!
This article pointed me toward the Watex Green Wall – I need something compact and stable (I have a large, mischievous puppy) but mobile. I am also on a very tight budget (customer service in the time of COVID). Mom and I had been discussing replacing my broken Aerogarden for my birthday in a couple months. Now, she is excited to get me this instead so I can expand my gardening addiction!! I can’t wait to have more herbs, and add greens on the bottom layer!!
I’m so excited, thank you!!
I am so happy for you, Susannah.
Thank you so much for commenting here. Much appreciated.
Happy Growing!
Sharon
Wow, these are really beautiful and I think the vertical use of space is a great idea. I appreciate the comprehensive review and details on each vertical herb garden, as with the huge number of options available, it can be challenging to know which one is going to work best in my own individual environment. I see a couple of planters that I really love on here… now I just need to pick out some plants!
Good for you, Aly.
When selecting your plants, choose those that can grow indoors all year round. This will ensure a high success rate of growing them. If you need help in the selection, here are the herbs that easily grow indoors year-round.
All the best!
Hello Sharon, I must say that this article is very helpful and informative. My wife and I enjoy gardening and we actually have a lot of flowers. We already have the indoor herb garden but I would like to get one more for my kitchen. Watex Metal planter looks pretty simple and nice designed, I think it will be a great fit.
I think the Watex Metal Planter is a good choice, Daniel. Since you already have an indoor herb garden, this simple mounted planter serves as a decorative green piece. Enjoy your growing!
These are really beautiful products Sharon. Thanks for bringing these to the fore.
I love the Savvy Grow, indoor vertical garden, mostly because of the LED Lights. I feel it would add beauty to any room i place it. I’m a big fan of herbs and this would help me grow my herbs at close range.
I am glad you like these, Mariam. It is absolutely great to have fresh herbs at arm’s length.
Happy Growing! and Happy Cooking!
oh wow. Just the article I was looking for. Thanks for the detailed review, I was confused between Savvygrow and Altifarm. And both of them have grow lights, perfect for the coming winters. I was wondering if Herbstation should have made it to that list.
Thanks for the Detailed article, you’ve made my decision much simpler.
happy growing!
Hey Cruz. Thanks for your positive feedback. Also, bringing to my attention to the Herbstation. I had a quick glance a while ago. It is a beautiful unit. And truly an all-in-one planter. Impressive. I will read more on this and may write a review. Thanks again and happy growing!
